A Tribute To Bill Murray, In Art.

A list of his films reads like the greatest comedies of all time: Caddyshack, Gohstbusters (I & II), Stripes, Kingpin, Scrooged, What About Bob, Groundhog Day, etc. Even his foray into the more serious (Lost in Translation, Rushmore, The Life Aquatic) has been inspired. Bill Murray is my favorite actor and a true American icon. So it doesn't seem all that odd that a collection of 40 artists would assemble to put on an art show honoring him. Too bad I'm not in LA...tomorrow.

The man, the myth, the legend.

Bacon Moon Pies!

Today's bacon-y goodness comes via the site "Uncrate" (a great source for all that is good in life). The moon pie - a southern favorite consisting of chocolate cookies, marshmallow and a chocolate coating - has been kicked up a bunch of notches with bacon, maple syrup and the best ingredients available. Though the site to purchase these treats appears to be defunct, the pic was so awesome, I just had to post it anyway.

Moon Pie madness!

Get An iPhone. Get Lucky.

I have yet to reap the benefits of this statement, but the dating website 'OkCupid' claims that iPhone users are more sexually active than other smartphone users. Well, if it's online it has to be true, right? The article has plenty of shiny graphics to boost its case, so I'm starting to believe.

iPhone users got it goin' on!

A Beer For Every Time Of Day.

The BeerMosa: Brunch. Refined.
Was perusing some DC websites for something entertaining to do and stumbled upon 'urban daddy'. Though this article is from June, I like the subject matter; 'Six Beers to Get You Through the Day'. Starting with a breakfast beer, brewed with oatmeal and cat-shit coffee (that is a whole other post), to an end of the evening Belgian ale. There are 6 beers, at 6 different DC establishments. Definitely a day - and evening - well spent.

Drink your way through the day.

One Good Reason (of the few) To Live In LA: Food Trucks.

Among the litany of food options in LA, one of the best is the ubiquitous food truck. But these are not your garden variety trucks. Anything from crepes, to Korean BBQ, to high-end Mexican food can be obtained. Celebrity chefs are even getting into the act. Due to the influx of social media such as Twitter, you can even follow your favorite truck and get instantly updated on its location. Adding to the diversity is a new truck that will feature the best meat in the world: bacon! The 'Lardon' truck will feature such scrumptious creations as BLTs, wings with bacon hot sauce, bacon pancakes, and a french toast sandwich with...bacon!

The story - from 'Urban Daddy'.
The 'Lardon' truck's menu. Yum!

There is even a site that tracks the food truck scene in LA, and follows the individual Twitter feeds of the trucks. A 'virtual' smorgasbord.

The 20 Worst Shots Of All-Time.

Though certainly not a comprehensive list, the folks at 'Weird Worm' have made a good argument for each of the 20 entrants on this foul compilation. I have personally only done 2-3 of these (that I can remember), and really have no desire to increase my number. My one question is; how do the ingredients in #15 combine to make the color green? Probably best not to dwell. Anyway, enjoy perusing this post and feel free to comment with your own nasty concoctions.

Let the games, and regurgitation, begin!

A Good Way To Get Arrested At The Airport.

With all the security at airports, and the well-known lack of humor that the cops and TSA have, these luggage stickers, which are simply attached to the outside of your luggage, may not have the desired effect...unless you are looking to get shot. Still, you get an 'A+' in the balls category from me if you can pull it off. One depicts what appears to be bundles of coke, or cash, and even a captive stewardess. I personally like the 'sex toys', pictured to the left.

The full story.
